Welcome 2012! Goodbye 2011. What a year it has been for me. I think it was the year of learning; lots of adventure, and definitely high emotions. And most, I did not expect a lot from 2011, I worked at it. My resolution was to not think but do, and surprisingly it was as though everything worked out the way I did not think it would. Maybe I should do that this year too.
Coming into 2012 is not as smooth but rather awkward. I spent the last days of 2011, not feeling well. Slept through Christmas, very sure that I had a okay New Years’ Eve. But I’m glad that time still moves on with or without us. We all need that sense of urgency and sense of loss, so that we stop thinking too much and start moving on with life. That’s a weird motivation, but hey I’m sure you will agree with me too.
This article is a good way to start the year. You should read it here. *pause for a quick read*

Okay, done? It says everything I don’t need to repeat really. I’m in a field of wellness and weight management coaching so this pretty much kind of emphasize what it takes to do it. Especially the new year’s resolution, new year, new goals, new hope, and everything. Most people just want to feel better, look good, and overall, feeling in control of their life especially the beginning of the year of apocalypse? I’m just kidding, hope it’s the same for the Mayans. *shrugs*
Most people I know have had a good 2011, I think, just a general assumption (clicks on Facebook photo albums, status and twitter updates etc etc). New job opportunities, travel, relationship updates, new hair do, career enhancement; basically stuff that makes your friends envious enough to know that you moved on and tried new things. *cynical smile*
At present, the 3rd day of the New Year. Not too late, but be quick, put on your running shoes, and go for it. For I have good feeling about this year. Only if you do something of course. Do something now, act on it now, today if possible, and be better by an inch every single day. Another smart way of saying, STOP PROCRASTINATING. *inserts laughter here*
Few tips on how to start the new year, if you haven’t or still thinking *rolls eyes”:
1) Spring cleaning (your office, your wardrobe, room)
I have the fear of cleaning out my closet for I will have insufficient clothes to wear which I think is happening! But hey, who knows, it’s the year of wardrobe change?
2) Dream board
You know the car you want, the house? the things you want to achieve in 2012? Better write them down or even better have pictures cut out from the magazines and stick em on your dream board. Things do happen when you put them on paper and when you look at them everyday.
3) Do something different every year (2011 Vs 2012)
What is going to be different this year? Ask and you will have the answers…
2009, I decided to take the road less travelled. I took a gap year and found my calling. I was listing down the things I wanted since 2008, Financial Freedom, Time, Travel, etc etc etc.
2010, I persisted. I had doubts, I was never that “stubborn”. But I took action inspite of fear. And then…
2011, it was my beginning of mini achievements. I was a leader, I took charge, I took in consequences (which is crazy), I think my course in Public Relations helped, but nothing beats the University of Hard Knocks.
*phew*
2012, this year is going to be…. making decisions, lots of travel-solo travels
and showing up. Do or die year. Since the world is coming to an end, and it’s my year, the year of the dragon, something must be done this year.
